Meet the girl behind the camera!

About Me

Hi! I'm Samantha Christie, but most just call me Sam. I'm the one behind the camera, and most times you can find me in a set of overalls and dunlops to boot.

I'm a country girl raised on a dairy farm consisting of purebred guernseys, a few draft horses, the resident barn cats, and of course a handful of chickens. I am also a dog mom to my borde collie Rosie, who is best friends with my parents 3lb yorkie Daisy.

I keep busy balancing 3 jobs: working the family farm, working seasonally at the historic village Kings Landing as a teamster and farm hand, and then working on my photography!

When I find spare time, I love to read and escape to new fantasy lands through the pages. I also enjoy various crafts, such as knitting and sewing, and outdoor adventures as well, such as skiing and snowshoeing!

Photography started as a hobby that allowed me to go out and enjoy nature while bringing a piece home for the days I couldn't escape back out to the fields and backwoods. This was especially important while I pursued my post-secondary education. I obtained a BSc in Agricultural Animal Science at Dal-AC, along with a business diploma in Financial Management from NBCC! I even went on to obtain skills and a certificate in cattle reproduction ultrasounding. I love to learn!

Landscape and animal/pet/livestock photography has been my main focus and my first love within photography.

You will often catch me out photgraphing nature and the livestock on our family farm. Kings Landing also provides beautiful historic views and stories I've been capturing over the years additionally.

More recently I have been loving being able to capture special moments for families, and will do family sessions on occasion upon request or during certain holidays!

My biggest motto is one should always strive to keep learning, and be humble enough to admit when improvement can be obtained! Which is why I'm constantly trying to improve my skills and education in regards to photography. I have taken a few courses over the years along with applying the theory and getting out there and putting said theory into practice, and I am always striving to learn more to bring you all a product you will love and cherish!
